Liposuction / Liposculpture

Liposuction is a surgical technique where excess fat deposits are removed from specific areas of the body. This slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours, proportions and ultimately your body image.

Some people have a body with disproportionate contours due to localised fatty deposits despite being of good health and having a reasonable level of fitness. This may be due to genetics rather than a lack of weight control.

Liposuction can be used to treat these resistant fatty deposits in many parts of the body including the thighs, arms, neck, hips, waist, back, inner knee, chest, cheeks, chin, calves, and ankles. This can be performed on its own or in combination with other procedures such as a breast reduction or a tummy tuck

What Liposuction Doesn’t Do

Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity and does not replace regular exercise and a good healthy diet in the maintenance of a healthy body weight.

Post Operative Care

A compression garment is routinely fitted to the areas which have had liposuction for 6 weeks to give the best results. There may be initial swelling and bruising in the areas effected but this generally settles within the first few weeks. The final result may take up to 3 – 6 months to occur due to the swelling.

Mr Stanley Loo will follow you up at his rooms (Auckland Plastic Surgery Group, Unit 6 / 31 Highbrook Drive, Highbrook, Auckland 2013) to monitor your progress and ensure that your recovery is smooth.
